Muslim Group Denounces Hostage-Taking

Americans often complain that mainstream Muslims never denounce terror tactics. Of course, Muslims do denounce these tactics, but it rarely makes the news, and even when it does, it’s never enough to satisfy the person who is criticizing mainstream Muslims.
Here the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) categorically condemns hostage-taking and kidnapping:

“We remind those who are holding the South Koreans hostage that kidnapping and taking innocent civilians hostage run counter to the tenets of Islam,” the statement said. “Islam preaches peace, moderation and coexistence.”

Who are the OIC?

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an inter-governmental organization grouping fifty-seven States. These States decided to pool their resources together, combine their efforts and speak with one voice to safeguard the interest and ensure the progress and well-being of their peoples and those of other Muslims in the world over.

The member nations of the OIC are Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei-Darussalam, Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Chad, The Comoros,Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.

I found this piece of news only at a news outlet I’d never heard of before. It almost seems like the mainstream, western media doesn’t want Americans to know that most Muslims condemn terrorism.
